The learner must feel that what they're learning is worthy of their time and efort and also has relevance.

2. Comprehensiveness
More inclusive software solutions that bring all the different levels of an organization as one entity. For example, at my school, some teachers uses the district grading program, some use My Gradebook, and some use paper and pen. No uniformity or comprehensive system has been implemented.

3. Scalability
The ability to upscale or downscale to accomodate the needs of the organization as swiftly and as painless as possible.

4. Longevity
Will the software company be around for years or disappear? What is their level of commitment to support and upgrade their software for the future.

5. Cost Structure
How affordable is it? Cost of a licensing fee per student? Does it include a server and technical support?

6. Administrative Features
Can it manage: registrations, online payments, rosters and attendance, calendars, administer surveys, bulletins, gradebooks, access to online instructional materials.

7. Instructional Features
Can it: provide user-friendly access for instructors and students, offer different means of integrating course material, allow for a variety of multimedia, supports file and screen sharing, support synchronous and asychronous online conferencing, manage separate virtual conferencing environments, share instructional materials, provide test development, and generate reports on test results for students.

8. Technical Features
Is the server compatible with the operating system being used? Are popular web browsers compatible with the operating system? How easy is it to administer the software?

9. Cost Benefit
Is the cost worth the final results you will receive?

10. Improve Performance
Does the LMS actually improve performance and benefit the organization?
