Top 10 of an LMS when the answer is yes to the following questions:
1. How well can the LMS be integrated into an already existing information infrastructure? There can be a fabulous system, but if pre-existing information has to be enitrely reworked to use the new LMS, is is worth it?
2. User friendly to instructors and students. No one likes to learn a new system and it makes it even worse if the interface isn't user-friendly.
3. Has the new LMS reduced or increased costs?
4. Can the instructor establish a course easily? Can he or she transfer information into the new set-up seamlessly?
5. Is the LMS capable of uploading different types of files?
6. Can the instructor and student have synchronous communication?
7. Can students e-mail the professor and other students in the course individually and to a group?
8. Is the training to learn the LMS cost-effective and easy to learn?
9. Can the instructor assign interactive assessments?
10. Reputation--has the company which sells the LMS been around for a long time?
