Notebook Entries
During the course of the class students will create entries into their notebooks. These will many be used as a reference and organizational tool for students to use when creating their other deliverables.

Moodle forum posts
Students will be required to make three forum posts as a part of the week’s homework. This will allow participants to respond to one another’s posts as well as receive feedback from peers and their instructor. Week one does post will allow students to practice using their newly acquired knowledge by evaluating a poem of their choosing as well as strengthen their understanding by reading a responding to their classmates’ posts. This will allow the instructor the opportunity to evaluate a student’s initial understanding of literary devices. In week two students will work collaboratively to analyze a poem, and then post individual reflections. Students will have an opportunity to practice analyzing poems prior to the final individual project, again strengthen their understanding and allowing the instructor to evaluate it. Week three’s post will help guide students in the right direction, classmates and the instructor will evaluate their post and offer feedback before students begin their final project.

Essay
Upon completion of session 3 students will write and submit an essay. This will be a culminating activity where students will analyze a poems use of poetic devices. This will give students the opportunity to apply what they have learned while strengthen their writing skills
