Forums- Students will be required during the three week session to participate in group forums that are posted on Moodle. These homework assignments may involve reading and responding to articles assigned by the instructor. Students will also be required to create their own discussion topics. The forum will be used every session
Blogs- While the class setting itself won’t offer students much information about the history of TV news, that will be provided via various web links that students can access. Based on these links students will have the opportunity to comment on the Moodle blogs to share their own view points on various historical news clips. These blogs will be a required homework assignment meant to be completed outside of class sessions.
Glossary- Students will be provided with a Moodle glossary of television news terms. This glossary will be interactive. Not only will the students have access to glossary terms provided by the instructor, they will also have the ability to add words and terms to the glossary as they see fit. How often the students use the glossary will be taken into account when the classroom participation grade is considered.
