Through this course students will learn about the background and similarities and differences of plant and animal cells. Students will learn the names of cell parts, the location/appearance of cell parts and the functions of those parts of each type of cell (plant and animal).

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

1. Summarize the history of how cells and microscopes were discovered and by whom.
2. Identify each of the cell parts on a diagram and describe their functions.
3. Describe the differences/similarities between a plant and animals cells by listing/pointing out the different features.
4. Identify analogies between the functions of city structures and the functions of cell parts.
