Lesson One - Fire Safety
The lesson function will show a variety of pictures and the user must select the best choice from a variety of options. Possible photos could be as follows:
• A picture of a variety of safety hazards like a cigarette butt, a fire without a ring etc.
• A picture of the tools necessary to start the fire with the exception of one item. The user must select the missing item.
Lesson Two - Drinkable Water Safety
The Quiz function in Moodle will be used in the first half of the module to determine if the trainee is able to identify harmful vs. viable water sources from the article readings. The quiz will help the instructor to check for understanding on this critical step as some water sources can still be harmful after the purification process.
Lesson Three - Environmental Safety
Trainees will be graded through a performance assessment. Similarly to the multi-user virtual environment (MUVE) deliverable, the trainee will be given a camping wilderness scenario prompt. Given a set list of variables, the learner will then be asked to evaluate the situation's environmental factors, and identify the most appropriate methods for solving the simulation. Students will be asked to justify in written form, the reasoning behind their decisions and their potential impact on the camping experience.
