Lesson One - Fire Safety
Students will submit a video using the assignments feature demonstrating the correct steps on how to setup, light and extinguish a campfire.
Lesson Two - Drinkable Water Safety
The trainee will need to submit an essay via the Assignments function on determining whether or not a water source is viable to drink from and the procedures used to filter and purify a water source. This assessment piece will help the instructor determine the if the trainee understands the procedure before moving on to the test phase which is the final assessment. Documents should be submitted in either Word or pdf format.
Lesson Three - Environmental Safety
Learners across various camp training centers will be assigned to a simulated version of a camping predicament. This pre-arranged simulation may be offered in Second Life or other multi-user virtual environment. The assigned learners will be guided through the simulation with scenario cards in order to determine the best course of action for the given problem. After the simulation, learners will be asked to deliver a journal response via discussion forum about their experience.
