The deliverables for the Nuclear Chemistry modules will include the following:
Wiki Laboratory Report
The students will conduct a laboratory on their own and post a laboratory report using a template in a Wiki. The laboratory will include the following sections:
- Purpose
- Materials
- Procedure
- Data
- Analysis/Graphs
- Conclusion
The laboratory Wiki will concentrate on the Half-life of a radioisotopes and allow students to share their results with the entire class. Students can then comment and compare to see if their results match their classmates.
Blog: Nuclear Chemistry in Your Life
Students will research and post a practical use of nuclear chemistry. After students have posted this information, they will go through the other blog postings and comment on three of their fellow classmates. This will spur their communication skills and possibly allow students to ask questions for clarification, make connections with other blog entries, and comment on how a particular piece of nuclear chemistry helped them in their life or a member of their family.
