Students will master the following objectives to complete Module 8:
1. Explain how alcohol affects mental and physical abilities needed for driving.
2. Define blood-alcohol concentration.
3. Define 5 myths and truths about the use of alcohol.
4. Explain the difference between prescription and over-the-counter medication.
5. Explain how depressants, stimulants, and hallucinogenic drugs can affect a driver.
6. Describe zero-tolerance levels of intoxication and how these levels can be measured.
7. Describe the options for purchasing a vehicle.
8. Explain how auto insurance works, and what is required by law.
Read chapter 15. Complete all review questions. Complete Chapter 15 test on the Moodle. Watch video on teenage drinking and driving. Post your opinion to the Moodle forum. Complete Chapter 15 quiz on the Moodle. Read Chapter 16. Complete all review questions. Complete the Chapter 16 test on the Moodle. Research the most fuel efficient automobile and write an essay describing it's efficiencies including fuel economy, price, and it's positive and negative impacts on the economy. Refer to MLA guidelines when completing this paper.
