There will be four overall deliverables that students will be submitting during the course. All of these deliverables will be posted to the course forum.
Each session will have an in-class assignment. For session one this is the “Analyzing Imperial Motives Handout” in which students will be viewing a slide show of artifacts and identifying which motives for imperialism they see. Session two is to complete the “Methods of Imperial Control” handout in which they read through a series of imperialism scenarios identify what imperial model is being described.
Each session will include a homework assignment require that students post comments to at least three of their classmates forum posts. These postings can be questions or comments on their peers’ postings. This will provide students with an opportunity to challenge the findings of their peers and defend their own findings.
